Dish hardware advice wanted

Hi, I have a 10ft Startrak dish with a C band LNB dating back from the mid 90's. I would like a recommendation on what make/models of C and or KU LNBFs to buy to upgrade this dish to be compatible with a Koqit H.265 HEVC receiver. Also I would like to replace the coax, again I would like a recommendation on what brands, features to look for and what if any types I should avoid. The length of the current cables are approximately 160ft.

I will chime in here. I would replace the current LNB set-up with a Titanium Satellite C Band LNBF with 5G Filtering. If there is no 5G in your area, there are lower cost options. But if 5G may be coming to your area no sense wasting money just go with the Titanium. They sell them in Single and Dual Output. As far as coax cable you can go with Quad Shield RG6 that is swept tested to 3GHz. That will work just fine at 160ft long. Hope this helps.

I have looked at various threads regarding KU reception on big dishes on this site, 2 in particular dating back to 2009 and 2012. Since technology has advanced a lot since then, I would like some advice on scalar rings, feeds and LNBF's currently available that would perform best.

I have installed many of these StarTraks and am using one right now. They are a very well made dish with good C-band performance. I did some tests with a California Amplifier C/Ku feedhorn and was very surprised and disappointed with my results.

I found that an old 36 inch Starchoice dish performed just as well as the StarTrak 10 foot on Ku. If you have the budget and space, get yourself a dedicated Ku dish.
