In Need Of Upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my present basic setup and would like to know what would be required for the upgrade. My present setup is a dish 500 and a single coax connected to my 811 receiver. The 811 is connected to my Sony HDTV in the den. I also have an antenna for OTA reception connected to the 811. Everything works great, but I cannot record and I want a dvr. I do have a TV (not HD) in another room, but it's only got a set of rabbit ears. Reception is ok, but I would like to improve that. I will say that the coax from the dish is routed thru the attic and then drops down an interior wall to the 811. This cost me more bucks on this installation (I guess this was over and beyond a basic install).

I've been reading many posts on leasing a 942 dvr and that's what I would like to upgrade to. Hopefully, I can get on the lease program since I've been a customer since 1999 and have the America's top 180 and the HD package. Assuming I get the lease, what all is required to hook up this other TV. Will another cable need to be dropped from the dish..or can I get by with just the one? Since, the cable I have now was installed 6 years ago ... is the the best cable available..? Does someone have a diagram on how to hookup a 942 with 2 TV's..?

Please be kind, because I am new to all this tech stuff and appreciate any advice. Thank you....

You can NOT share a single cable between two receivers.

It requires DishProPlus hardware to share the cable with a dual-tuner box.

Dish 500 in and of itself is meaningless - it could be any of at least 9 different setups.
Your Check Switch menu should tell us what we need to know about it.

Dish 1000/Voom HD

When will i be able to get the rest of my locals in HD?
