hello pals

just wanted to know whether i can use my "startrack dvb dish and receiver" in india as well, i was using it in saudiarabia i used to get about 2000 channels or so from the world. If i install the same here will i get all the same channels or is there going to be any restriction or signal problem..If any modifications are req pls explain thanks .. await ur reply

you should be able to. But since most of us are on the western side of the world, I can't guarantee :)

and sadly, the OP probably can get 2000 legal channels in Saudi Arabia. FTA is much larger in Europe/Middle East

I dont believe this is one for Dr Iceberg. (I could be wrong) :) as on the other side of the earth FTA is much more common and there are lots and lots of free channels availavle.

Besides with that said I don't think the Dish Network signal reaches India (with that said it begs the question, how do those customer service people support Dish Network customers when they themselves can't see the Dish Network signal) :D

I don't think you'll get all the channels in India that you did in Saudi Arabia due to the "beam" of the satellite.

They only beam it to specific parts (the footprint) so if you're out of that footprint you won't pick up the channels

I think it more depends on the volage system over there are they 220-240v/50hz or 110v/60hz. I have never been so I don't know if there is a voltage difference between Saudi Arabia & India.

a fair amount of FTA receivers will work between 100-240 volts as long as you have the right adapter on it :)

I have an analog box from the UK and it runs on both but had that funky plug (the 2 pins)...choppy choppy the end off and slapped a US end on it :)
