I have a Legacy QUAD. My local dealer told me that he was told that this would not work with the 921 and you would need a DISHPRO. Yet he said that he had used a 921 with his Legacy QUAD and it seemed to work fine. Anybody have insight into this?

I'm running mine with a legacy quad. Your dealer is incorrect. The only other reason I can think of is if you plan to run more than two other receivers in addition to the 921. He might want to switch over to a Dishpro lndb to use Dishpro switches.

My plan is to run 501/4900/921 so hopefully Legacy will be ok. What is advantage of going to DISHPRO other than adding more receivers?

In my own opinion: none

I have a quad lnbf legacy dish connected to 2 sw64 switches that can feed 8
receivers.
granted you can only have 6 to an account, but I will have 6 when I get my
921.
all I have left for legacy receivers is a jvc hm-100 satellite receiver/ digital vcr combo that I will not give up, the rest of the receivers are dish pro and they work just fine.

Yup legacy Quad with Sw64 here to and all is well. You dealer probably wants to squeeze out a little more blood.
FREAK!

Could you please draw a picture of your connections from L-QUAD to the 2xSW64 ?
