List of events on PVR530 empty

I just got my new *C subscription. I have a 530PVR. I have two lines running from the dish to the back of the receiver. I start a recording on one channel, and move to another channel. The front panel shows a timer icon, and if I go to the Timers menu, it does show that the first show is being recorded. However, when the show ended, the record icon turned off (as expected), but when I hit the "Events List" button on my remote, it shows an empty list. So where did my recording go?

Perhaps my 2nd tuner is not working right? So I ran a 2nd experiment. I recorded a show and did not change the channel while it was being recorded. Again, after the recording stopped, the "events" list was empty.

Any ideas why the shows are not being recorded?

How can I tell if my 2nd tuner is working right? My signal strength shows up as 85%.

Note that pause and play is working fine when I'm watching a show live.

on another forum, i've read that CSRs tell customers to record a 60-second clip and save it to the 530's hard drive forever. i don't know if this will help you right now, but it seems to prevent future glitches
