ok, this problem just started a couple of weeks ago. Everyday around 8 AM I lose signal to satellite 119. I get the ERROR 002 screen:

The satellite signal has been lost, signal aquisition is in progress....

this clears up around 6 - 6:30 PM.

I've checked the cable connections and they apear to be fine. The alignment doesn't look to have changed...but I can't be positive. When going throught the Installation - Point Dish screens, I get 100+ signal strength on sat 110 transponders (most) and 80+ on 119 transponders (most). Interestingly, even when I get the above error message, if I check the 119 transponder number referenced, there is signal and the strenght is always good (again, around 80+).

I have a SuperDish with a SW64 switch (as shown on the Check Switch screen-although the switch itself shows model DP34). When performing a switch check I no longer show sat. 105. When experinening the problem, I lose 119 Even (input 1B on the screen).

Anyone have any ideas? Any help will certainly be appreciated.

Try using 119 on port 1, 110 on port 2 and 105 on port 3. Then run check switch. Is there anything on 105 for you?

FYI, 80s for 119 is kind of low. What are you getting on 119 Transponder 11?

ok, swapping the ports around get me this:

1A Satellite:X, Polarity: X
1B Satellite 105, Polarity: Even
2A Satellite 110, Polarity: Odd
2B Satellite 110, Polarity: Even
3A Satellite 119, Polarity: Odd
3B Satellite X, Polarity: X

Status: Problem Deteckted, Check connections

Thanks

I put the connection back to the original and now I have this:

1A Satellite:119, Polarity: Odd
1B Satellite X, Polarity:
2A Satellite 110, Polarity: Odd
2B Satellite 110, Polarity: Even
3A Satellite , Polarity:
3B Satellite 105, Polarity: Even

What is happening is that your LNBs are doing what is called "drifting". Explaining it further gets technical, so we'll leave it at that. Legacy receivers like yours have very little tolerance for drifting. The best thing for you to do is to call DISH and have them send someone out to upgrade your dish. The 105 satellite that your dish uses to pick up local channels is getting shut off in October, so you'll need an upgrade soon anyway. DISH should do it for you at no charge. In the process of the upgrade, your problem will be fixed.

mdwatt...I assume you aer referring to the Dish 500 upgrade Dish Network shows on their customer website. I gave that some thought this weekend...thanks for the advice, I'm calling them right now.
