Loss of Program Guide

Got everything going and all channels are working properly. I turned off my receiver last night at around midnight before going to bed. Woke up this morning and my program guide says "no data" for all channels. Later when I pushed the "guide" button it wouldn't go to the guide. Therefore, I have no program guide or info. I'm puzzled as to what to do. What troubleshooting method should I use and is this a common error that can be fixed? Thanks for your answer on the time zone question I'll just leave that at on eastern time.

Try unplugging/replugging the receiver first. By resetting it you force it to download the guide again.

I unplugged the unit for about 30 seconds and replugged it again and it worked! Is it best to shutoff the receiver at night (that's what I did last night).
