"Finally - an issue so critical that politicians feel compelled to set aside partisan rancor to join in fraternal harmony," writes CED Magazine's Brian Santo. "Is it a threat to national security? A response to a natural disaster?" No, it's the possibility that Dish network subscribers could lose access to local affiliate stations outside the markets in which they reside. As it stands, a lawsuit by News Corp. means that Dish network customers who get these channels will lose them come December 1. The bi-partisan effort would protect the 800,000 subscribers impacted by the suit.
