I want to switch to satellite for the first time and after researching dish vs direct I think dish is a better value.

My question is If anyone has any tips on what to watch for with an installer. Is it better to go directly to the dish website for customer service in the future or one of the other sites like the one advertising in this forum?

Will they automatically hook up HDTV with HDMI or will I be charged extra. If so can I provide my own Cables?

Any hidden costs to be aware of ahead of time?

When I got Dish installed at my house the guy was going to connect it with component. My mom called me on the phone and asked me where I had the HDMI cable and I told her and the guy connected the 722 with my HDMI wire. So you can use your own cable.

I like to ask on the forums first before I call.

I'm not sure about the hidden costs. I don't have Dish anymore.
