hey i live in hialeah Fl and i can't get any of the linear satellites all the signal i get is from 82,91,110 and 119 W.I'm using a SG1200, 30" Dish and a invacom QPH-031 lnb. I need help to get the other satellites

WOW! What are you getting FTA on 82-119w ?

Make sure to hook up to a Linear output of the Invacom QPH-031 and set your L.O. to 10750

I'm hook up to the linear and i still don't don't get signal from any linear sat what am I donig wrong

If you are using the correct L.O. (LNB Freq) 10750 then you will have to use a LIVE TP. and then move the dish until you see signal QUALITY!

Its not as easy to find a Linear satellite as it is to find the MUCH stronger DBS satellites!

You never did tell us what channels you get on DBS 82-119w?

Hey can u send a link where i can read and get familiar with all this (LIVE TP and LO terminology) please and a better guide than the one i have because i ain't getting no luck with this linear stuff. TY PSB for ur help

ok this is what i've done so far. set my motor at 65 elev, and my dish at 24.and with skew in 0 i put it to the south and i get 82w what i do from there.my diseqc seems to b bad

AMC-5 @ 79ºW Would be the best Linear satellite to use, its close to your true south!

I would remove the motor and try to find this satellite at the below angles, only then add the motor.

When you do add the motor use.......

Motor elevation = 64º

Dish on motor elevation = 26º

The dish elevation may need changed to peak in the signal but the motor elevation should never be changed!

Thank You PSB I'll try it like that. one last question can i move the motor angle in case that i find the AMC5 in a lower angle?

No never! As long as you are sure the mast/pole is level all round all you will need to move is the dish elevation slightly up or down to peak in the signal.

If you change the motor elevation you will not track the satellites (Clarke Belt) accurately!

then what is this GI-MCS ?and how can i find it in the list so i know how far i am from my true south

ok i check lyngsat and yes is has same channel as teh ones i just scan now can u help me setting the rest of the satellites.coolsat 5000 plat, invacom quad, 30" and getting AMC-5 with 90 % quality and level

Well done!

If you are using USALS make sure to have your Latitude (North)and Longitude (West) entered correctly before moving the dish with the motor, when you change to another satellite in the antenna set up screen the dish should move to that satellite. Then do a blind scan.

You may have to use DiSEqC 1.2 for some satellites to the far East and West of your arc. You will have to use a LIVE transponder then motor until you see max. signal quality, then you can number and store the satellite/position.
