I have a problem with my system not receiving all the channels for DSS 101, DirecTV...
Equipment is a M9 Tracvision dish, which we have purchased an upgraded TRI Americas LNB, dual feed, working with a TVG8 MCU box, which says it has the TVG9 software version 1.00 installed...
I have checked the setup and is set for LHC Left hand circular skew, and by my understanding, with the circular feed, the skew position should not be an issue...
I am only capable of the 101 feed, because when it finds the 119, it will not register correctly to stay locked.
This is a mobile sat, on board an offshore vessel...
Thanks for any assistance or input you may provide in dealing with this setup...D...

what's changed since it last worked? - sweep the system for fitting and cable issues

just being a smart ass but if your watching TV on an "offshore vessel...." you can afford to hire a tech. or just pay for the "protection plan". LOL :)

That was my first thought on cables or connections, but still no joy, and as for techs, it gets rather expensive to get a tech to ride a 12 hour crew boat offshore to come ck a problem, besides I don't know of any DirecTV techs that would do that anyway... :-sick...lol...
WHAT has changed is we just came back from a project in Mexico, where the new TRI-Americas LNB was supposed to allow us to use one LNB for all areas, north and south america, without changing all the time, we get there, and they ordered SKY Mexico's system instead of Latin DirecTV... SO, Guess what, that is the only system that the LNB doesn't work with, the SKY Mex system...
They had to swap out our MCU for one that worked with their LNB in the M9 dish... And as usual, they didn't send our original MCU back, but the one we have onboard, does find the DSS101, and seems to work...
JUST wondering if I need different MCU or Software, to correct the missing channels...
ONLY picking up ESPN 207 and 380 CBS and approx. 20 others through out, so I am out almost 70% of the transponders...
I have the sat connected to a Zinwell WB616, could the switch be droping that section of feed...D...

Problem Solved...

OK, Just as suspected by FedUpInstaller, we found the connectors to be the problem... I had, went in for my time off, and during that time, the new crimp tool and connectors came in for the RG-11 lines... So, my electricians, decide to use them to replace the connectors that I had previously installed and crimped using channel locks to crimp... At the time it was all I could do to get the new RG-11 up and going, but they neglected one detail... I trimmed the plastic off the center pins and soldered them on when I used my crude channel crimps... So, I had to cut the connectors off that they had installed, and re-solder the center conductor pins, to get a better Lossless connection and WHA-LA, the transponders magically appeared...
And Yes, I used the correct crimp tool this time...lol...
Being offshore, doesn't always mean you have everything at your disposal, and companies aren't as fluid with funds and supplies, as one would think...
