You need to look for the Digital AV adapter. I have one for my iPhone and up front, you should know that App support for video playback is iffy. Some Apps support it, others don't. I can play videos I made just fine, but using Dish's Sling Player app gives me audio only through the TV while the video plays on my iPhone.
AirPlay support through my AppleTV is better than the HDMI dongle.
that is what I am wondering some stuff plays off of the hmdi output and some doesn't
Either way I call directv last night and ordered that package They said I have first week to test and can cancel if I like within week 1.

I bought the HDMI cable a month ago, but before doing so I did some extensive research*. Apparently the latest adapters, available at the Apple store, addressed earlier issues and should work with any/all apps. I bought it, plugged it in 2 secs, and it plays my DirectTV, Hulu, and other apps on my 51" Panasonic.
*I don't think there's a way to tell the difference between an old or new cable, so that's why I bought it directly at the Apple store
