No uplink Activity today!

Happy No-Uplink Thanksgiving everyone...

Quick question, how long ago did some of the spanish-language channels get mirrored to the 270-273 numbers? I noticed that this morning that they are there for some reason, in addition to their normal spot, and was curious. They aren't all there, just 3 of them, so it's a little odd to me. I went through every page of that 25-page monster uplink thread and saw no mention of it despite a search telling me it was in there.

I just think it's an odd thing to do, not put them all there, and how spanish language channels fit between religion and hbo I don't get, but...

Those channels are available in AT- packages as well as the Latino packages and they were previously in that area.

September 21, 2005.

Univision and Galavision were originally added to channels 270 and 272 back in summer 1998 I think. It could have been 1997.

The channels were mirrored to the current 800 block channel numbers on June 23, 2003

They were removed from 270 and 272 on July 9, 2003

I can't see it, but according to the Dish Web Site, there has been a channel swap. There is no mention of Channel 1 and TVCI is there in its place in the package info.

I guess the question now is why TVCI is uplinked on channel 742 at 121° as well?

Yea I saw that change but didnt think anything of it. Hopefully nextweek we will have some real activity.

because those 2 are in the AT120 pack so I guess its duplicated so people can scan through them without having to check the 800's

probably the same reason all those English channels are dupes in the 800's

Dish Latino channels also in AT120 and up:

Galavision
Mun2 (MunDos)
Telefutura East or West
Univision East and West

Also in other AT packages and Dish Latino and already mirrored for both services--HITN, Gol TV, Toon Disney, SiTV, and two Muzak audio channels.

So missing in the 270 range is Univision west, and Mundos.

Spoken like a veteran and I can't agree more. That makes the best sense. Whether they did it for the subs or for the carriers of those Latino programming, who knows. But it's better to see them before the Premium channels and not have to scroll or remember to hit the 800's to see them.

ya.. Ch1Ru is gone .. from DISH's platform... (for now anyhow)

TVCI at 742 (121 location) - i bet it will disappear soon
( unless CH1RU renegociates with DISH pretty quick )

The situation with Ch1ru is the same as with the recent Korean channel move - it is going to the DirecTV. This is not good news for Dish. TVCI is mostly local Moscow channel, Ch1ru was a major national Russian channel.
As for me I don't care too much. I turned off Russian TV when started watching more and more and more, ... and more HDTV.

CH1RU (channelonerussia) claims EchoStar were the first to terminate the contract without any prior notice. That is why they are jumping to another provider. E* didn't say anything at all.
