My guess is that they're afraid of getting complaints about Al Jazeera from nutcases who haven't actually watched it, and figure that the same demographic won't watch Current either so they'll never find out that it's actually Al Jazeera. This is, after all, the company who put a light on their first-generation receivers to notify the user of system messages, then never used the message feature because they were afraid of getting calls from people wondering why the light was blinking.
