OTA Equipment Set Up

I am so freakin' psyched! I just discovered that I can get at least 5 local channels over the air here in Burlington VT.

A few questions: my HDTV is in the basement, so I don't think a set top antenna will work down there (for example FM reception is pretty bad). I do have a wall mounted coax input from my Dish install upstairs that I could put a splitter on and attach the OTA antenna. Can I then add another splitter in the basement and run one coax to the antenna in jack on my 811? In otherwords, can the regular dish signal and the OTA signal both co-exist on the same cable? I would rather not screw any equipment up by trying this on a trial and error basis.

Lost tonight in HD...:D

Thanks!

You can use a diplexer at each end to combine the OTA signal with the sat signal, but there is some signal loss in the OTA signal. Unless the OTA signal is very strong, I would reccomend a separate cable for the OTA antenna.
