Oversized HDMI screen

My receiver seems stuck in HD Stretch mode, and this causes the left side of the picture on my screen to be cut off. I have a VIP211z receiver and I've tried the available options as far as HDTV setup goes 16:9 aspect radio and 720 or 1080 res. with no change. Any ideas?

Not sure what you mean? The VIP211z is feeding a Samsung LED TV HDMI input.
