Figured I would start a thread after looking through at least half the "mega" Dish absolute thread and not finding anything looking conclusive.

Please post your offers to move from Dish HD Absolute. This will help those of us weighing our options on sticking or moving from Dish.

Scott my apologies for creating a second thread but figured it would help. Please keep this thread to offers ONLY. Thanks a ton in advance.

Glad a second thread was started, I have HD absolute, have not been made an offer and would like to know what Dish's best offer is. The other thread has to many people giving opinions that do not even have HD absolute.

Call dish and ask them what is their best offer to keep you as a customer.

It is Dish's responsibility to inform us when Absolute is to be discontinued and what our options are. To this point, I have not been contacted by Dish, so everything I have learned has been hearsay. I wouldn't want to contact Dish and get some lame CSR that has no knowledge of Dish's HD Absolute plans. Charlie's modus operanda is to release information on a need to know basis only which is why Dish has a special project group to contact HD Absolute customers.

I think it is a great idea to compare offers though, but I bet the way Dish has tightened up lately that there is only offer to be given. Dish doesn't try to hold on to subscribers like Directv does...

Their first offer to me was the AT200 for $39.99 for a year, with HD for life, Platinum for 6 mos and no new contract obligation. I asked about other packages and was told essentially that the price would be the intro price for the other packages as well ($29.99 for AT120+ for example). They said the reason for suggesting the 200 was that it would be the closest match, even though it wouldn't be an exact match. In fact, further analysis shows that it would be the best solution in my situation as far as programming. As far as money, any increase is not the ideal solution.

Has anyone made any counter offers? I would try for Platinum included for free as well. Given the fact it was included with Absolute and given to subs free a couple months ago.

Yeah, Platinum was given for free a while back and regular subs paid $10 for HD. Now HD is free and you pay $10 for platinum if you want it. No loss here, no gain either.

The reason it was free is that it wasn't worth the price and wasn't selling. Now that they've added Epix, Indie, Retro there's some value to the package. May also have something to do with the pressure on Absolute since there is obviously more cost involved.

For the posters who say they don't want to talk to a CSR, the answer is simple - you won't. The CSRs can't deal with you. You will be sent to a different department and speak to someone most likely in Denver. They are very well versed, speak English and are the most helpful and knowledgeable you will ever deal with at Dish.

I cant wait for my "call" to come in. If they offer me a 39.99 for AT200 + 6 months free platinum, I'm all over that like white on rice. Pick up BTN and Red Zone, Fox News, BBC america, FX, G4, all channels I was willing to pay 10+ per month for with absolute.

Now the question is, can I get them to give me a decent deal for a 922?? :D

So $39/yr is basically the same offer to new subs. How much is it after that? +$15 I assume.

The closest match? With no Tennis, Versus, National Geographic, History and Biography channels? (There may be others, I'm not sure).

This is a pretty hard sell -- pay $10 more/month (the 12 month discount rate) for fewer channels and NONE of the Platinum channels (after 6 months) unless I anty up another $10/ month. Even the discounted rate sucks -- why would anyone then pay an additional $15/month after 1 year?

I appreciated Absolute while it lasted. But Dish has too many flaws (no MLB, part-time HD RSN's, fewer HD games in their Center Ice package) to be considered a strong contender for my business when I can get better service for the same price range.

If their "offer" to take a lot more money from me for less service is the best they can do, it will be heartily rejected.

Red Zone's not included in AT200 (at least in HD)...just in Multisport.

Could not have multi sport. Tried it many a time during my tenure with Absolute.

I've tried before and during every college football season and have never been able to add multi sport to my Absolute package. Having Absolute end before football season would make it a little easier for me to tolerate the situation.

No call here either.

I think the reason Absolute cannot add things is that it would be a 'change' and that would END our grandfathered package. At least that was my understanding last year when I tried it. I can't even bundle my phone/internet/Dish because of Absolute. So when the plug is actually pulled, I will be able to have more options.

Yeah a 922 upgrade incentive would be nice but don't hold your breath... LOL
