Based on a suggestion by primestar31 awhile back, I emailed my local PBS affiliate, KCPT to ask them if they could extend out their PSIP guide info. I currently only see 6-8 hours. They responded to my email quickly. Looks promising

Is it more expensive for the station to push out more guide data perhaps?

I seriously doubt that. I think many so-called "engineers" are nothing but "I read the manual" people lately. Probably not even trained anymore. It's also very likely they don't even watch their own channel OTA, so they wouldn't know if there's an issue until people call them.

The Columbus and Dayton stations have 6-8 hours of Guide info thru PSIP. The low power stations WDEM have no Guide data. Channel 51 WSFJ Guide always says “Regularly Scheduled Programming”.
That is why I consider Guide info from PSIP to be almost useless. If you are using a DVR to record shows, you need a provider that downloads the Guide from a provider like Gracenote.

All the channels in my market have PSIP except Telemundo. As a workaround, I set my receiver to "sit" twice a day on the channels with the least amount of PSIP, that way it's always refreshed.

Providers that download Gracenote usually charge a fee, and I'm trying my darndest to be a true "cord cutter"
