Question about 722 HD antenna input

Just wondering if the 722 would recognize the HD signal from Cable as an antenna input. I am currently getting my local HD from Basic Cable service and didn't know whether or not the 722 would recognize that, or does it have to be an antenna only?

I have a Samsung QAM box that tunes the signal for my HD ready Sony rear-projection. I was hoping that the 722 would recognize Cable and I could bypass the Samsung.

No QAM (cable) tuner in 722.

Bummer..... that's what I was afraid of. I don't get quite good enough reception with an antenna and was hoping the 722 might be able to deal with the cable input.

Not all cable is QAM so sometimes. But not newer cable systems or digital cable systems.
