A few years ago, I bought a 4K Joey outright, not a rental or tied to any contract or anything. Now I'm looking to sell it. What do I need to do so that the person buying it can actually use it?

Right now, it's listed on my account as being "powered off". I assume it needs to be removed from my account entirely? Oh, and my account is currently up-to-date, no past amounts owing.

First, call Dish and have the 4K Joey removed entirely from your account. Let them know you are going to sell it, that should get them motivated to actually do it. Next, it would be honest of you to let your buyer know that the 4K Joey doesn't actually do much 4K. There are no 4K sports channels (540) that even show up because those channels are HDR only and the 4K Joey seems incapable of doing live HDR at this time. Amazon Prime does do HDR is stream mode though. There are a few On Demand events, both PPV and some movies, that aren't HDR and the 4K Joey will support that.

There is one way you can watch Sports live from the 4k Joey I just did it last night to watch the Eagles and Giants game. First set up game finder for the sports you want to watch, next have your TV on any channel just before the game starts and when the Game finder popup in the bottom left hand corner states you game on 540-1 is about to start, press select on you remote and the 4K joey will turn to channel 540-1. Note if you leave 540-1 you can not go back to the channel. Since I planned to only watch to half time. I record 540-1 from the Hopper 3 and once recorded I moved the record game to an external hard drive. Once the recorded game was on external hard drive the 4k Joey will see and play the recording.
I have no Idea why Dish will not fix this issue so I been using the method for almost a year now.
