I have a 10 foot dish that I use for c-band and a 120cm dish I use for ku. The way I have it setup now is that I have a 4x1 switch right behind my receiver and port 1 goes to the c-band side and port 2 goes to the ku side. Both dishes use motors to move them. If I understand correctly that is not a good way to run my setup. So my question is can I use a 22Khz 2x1 switch in place of the 4x1 DISWqC switch.
 
With the C-Band dish, since it is moved by voltage and current from a separate cable (not over the coax), there is no problem with the placement of the switches before the motor. The Ku-Band dish, however, is most likely moved by a DiSEqC H-H motor powered through the coax. That is where problems can occur due to the motor current running through the switch.
 
I my experience with an Ecoda feeding into a GBox and H-H Motor, is that the Ecoda always passes the motor commands on both ports. The GBox ignores USALS commands, but the H-H motor would respond to the DiSEqC Motor commands that were intended for the GBox.
 
If the Ecoda passes the motor commands on both ports how would be the best way to go about wiring the two dishes. My setup now is a Pansat 9200 with a 4x1 diseqc switch hooked to a 3 foot coax. Port 1 goes to a Gbox that works the 10 foot cband dish. Port 2 goes to a SG6000 motor that works the 120cm dish.

I have tried using the 10 footer for Ku but, I just can not get a good signal from it and use cband too.
 
My 80cm is used only as a Back-up for Ku on my BUD, for the "must see" on gusty days.
I gave up and went to a 2 receiver setup.
The "Master" receiver has an Ecoda switch, with1 side going to the Loop-Out of the Second receiver. The Second Receiver is normally un-plugged, which stops the DiSEqC Motor commands from being passed. Not elegant, but effective.
