Satellite Capacity, Picture Quality

Since much of the SD programming was on a different satellite than HD, when weather issues affected HD, the drop to SD was better than no programming at all.
I could be wrong but i heard the 129 bird was a weaker bird than the 119-119 sats!!! ever try watching a VHS tape on a 77 or 85 inch screen it will destroy your eyes LOL :D. though some SD looks ok like it has been remastered to HD from the sat or converted to HD..

Your asking how I made out from what?
I saw you posted a picture of your dish and LNB. Thanks
Did you ever post a pic of the switch's, splitters, or inserters the installer set up?
picture isn't only as good as the source your pumping into the T.V it's going to depend on the T.V. as well and how well it can process it!!! when we were using our sony's at that time. we had charter and our charter box looked as good as a directv box ;). there was none of that cable fuzz the picture just popped out. we told em to go screw when they took our whole home dvr away after we moved.... I'm looking forward to seeing sony's RGB LED sets i will prob be an early adopter especially if there going to make a 115 inch screen :biggrin

The location meant more than the signal strength as bad weather passed by. When one sat went out, the other kept working many times.

I'm more than old enough to remember when we used to watch snowy black and white programs, so SD really doesn't bother me. Living in our motorhome pretty much fulltime for the last 15 years, large screen TV's were out of the question. We're watching a 4:3 format SD program right now on a 27" TV . We do have a 55" TV in the house, but we don't spend much time in there since it's harder for my wife and I to get around compared to the motorhome. Given our advanced ages and all the years we watched SD TV, our eyesight may not be perfect anymore, but it's not likely watching TV caused us any significant problems.

Our main TV is a 77" Sony OLED. I believe that's as good as it's going to get at least from 4 years ago when I bought the Tv. Hoping with that with that tv and an upgrade to the Hopper 3 from the Hopper 2 that the picture will improve?

The hopper 3 is faster than the hopper 2
