SatelliteHelp Question

Greetingand Salutations to everyone here.
I'm new here and I thought that this sitewould give me some answers to direct me. I'm not sure to which thread to put this in as it concerns both the (BUD) big dish and the smaller dish sizesatellite dish.

At this present time I have Brighthouse cable in Tampa Florida. They are raising their rates dramatically. A couple of years ago I was thinking of putting up some bigdishes and getting rid of cable back then. I found some big dishes for free. Put in some heavy duty steel poles. Trouble was I didn't know how to do the wiring and where to get the receivers for them. Right now I have two poles for the 10'dishes and I also have a pole (Short, cut off from the ground) for a Birdview Satellite dish. No receivers for any of these dishes. I looked for help from some satellite dealers who made service calls and came up with nothing. So I put it on the back burner in hopes thatone day I could find some help.

Lastly I made a purchase of a new truck and new truck camper. The camper is set up witha satellite dome antenna on the roof, plus I also have a portable satellite dome antenna that I'm planning to use on a picnic table to watch TV. I believethey set it up for the Dish Network.

I hadDirecTV years ago and was happy with it. So now I'm considering of setting upmy home with DirecTV or Dish. I'm just not sure which would be the best choice for me to put in my RV and Home. If the satellite antennas are set up for the Dish Network can they be modified to take DirecTV? Which service would be the best and why please?

Anybodyliving near Crystal River (34461) Florida that can help me with the big disheswould be appreciated!

Thanks!

AFAIK the new generation dishes, multiple satellite, for Dish or Direct are not interchangeable. But I could be wrong.
{Dish or Direct} which would be the best choice for me
The one that provides a package of channels at a price that you're happy with.
As far as the big dishes, they are not really usable on either of the pay services. But they work great for FTA.
(Free Television Appreciation) FTA is more a hobby, than a source of scheduled programming. You won't get the subscription channels you are used to via cable or the satellite providers, but there is a lot that they will get. If you're interested in watching news channels from across the globe, get many of the sub-channels carried on some local tv stations along with some channels aimed at countries to our south, or in the western Atlantic, and more. Maybe even run across an interesting itinerant feed. Go FTA and put up a BUD (Big Useful Dish).
I should add, there is a subscription service for the big dishes still available. Skyvision.com has the lowdown on the packages and the basic 4DTV receiver for it.

What would a satellite signal look like?
