Setting PTAT shows to be saved in the regular saved file (My recordings), beyond the normal 8 days seems very poorly designed. I spent a while really exploring all ways of doing it (I don't watch that much TV at home and hadn't taken the time to do it before).

If you select the show from the guide, you can set up the recording like normal, but it is always skipped saying "PTAT event". If you select the show from the PTAT recordings, you can select "save" or "save series". Sometimes when you "save series" it moves the current recordings in PTAT over to "My recordings", sometimes not. There is no marker saying if you have previously selected "Save series" or not, and no way that I can find to un-select it.

If a simple check or something appeared next to "save series", it would make things very simple.

When you select to save series from PTAT episodes does this disble autohop? I've noticed most of the series I have saved do not have autohop available but they were recorded via PTAT.

I hope this was cleaned up with S230. Previously if I had a timer set for a PTAT show it would save it OK. If I didn't have a timer set and there were no episodes in the My Recordings section it would save the show, but if there were already other episodes saved it would not save the new PTAT episode. (I hope this makes sense).

I got the 230 update last night and was able to save a Big Bang Theory show from the PTAT folder even though I already had 3 shows saved in the My Recordings folder. That didn't work with S222.

Great news to hear this has been resolved. now I just need the s230 update and I will be all set.

Are you saying, for example, if I went in Wed and looked at Tuesday's stuff, and decided to save NCIS and NCIS LA from PTAT to my normal recordings for later (longer than 8 days), there is a chance it wont save them?
Yes, there is a small chance. A few of us have reported this, but as of yet there is no rhyme or reason known why it happens.

Dang. Do you hit save, and it removed it from PTAT, but it is nowhere to be found in your recordings? Lost forever?

Im trying to get a good handle on all the quirks before the install, so i know what to expect.

Yes. After 8 days it deletes it even though you asked it not to. This has only happened to me once so far, but it may have happened more, I just don't keep a hand-wriiten log of my recordings to compare it to.

Gotcha. Staying 1-2 weeks behind, sometimes more, I may not even notice if one I manually save from PTAT would have been dumped. I remember reading about this bug, but i thought it was related to shows one also had a timer for, and they should not have been deleted from PTAT. Sounds like a few bugs on both sides of PTAT.

It could be both. The reason I know is that Disney's Cars was playing on TV and I saw it in the PTAT folder. My son loves that movie, so I wanted to keep it. He was not happy when the Hopper deleted it by mistake. It may have happened other times, but I just have not noticed.

Joey skipped over linking to hopper and stuck on activation screen!
