I have tried, without luck, to get the SONY slv-d500p vcr/dvd combo to work with my dish 721 remote. Any help?

PS: Tried SONY codes for VCRs : 500, 501, 502, 503, 504

Did you try any Sony DVD codes?

They are the same -- 500 - 504

I don't think so. The Dish 721 user manual shows that Sony DVD codes are 617, 644, and 645.

Hmm, that's interesting. Unless I have an old manual. I just checked the manual online, and you are right. I will try these codes tonight as well, though I doubt if it will work since I even tried to do the scan, going through all options, and reached at the end of the codes available with the remote. It may be that I have an older version of the remote? It is a silver remote.

I wonder if other Sony devices have the same problem as Sony audio receivers, where they come from the factory set for "AV2", when all universal remotes send in "AV1"? I had to change the receiver to AV1, in order to work with my universal remote.
