Franco-Italian chip maker STMicroelectronics <STM.PA> said on Thursday it had now shipped over two million chip sets for U.S.-based XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. (nasdaq: XMSR - news - people).

Chip sets are groups of micro chips designed to work together on specific functions.

ST also said in a statement it had delivered to XM Satellite Radio working samples of a new one-chip product to enhance overall performance and allow extra advanced data applications.
