Well I finally decided to climb on the roof today to add another LNB to the motorized. Wanted to get PAS9 which needs a universal. Issue was I didnt want to get rid of my standard LNB on there already due to having one line setup to a 4x1 switch which runs to a 22k switch (there are 2 4x1 switches in the setup).

So I decided to slap a Universal on the side of the standard LNB (and opposite the DBS LNB). Got it setup and hoseclamped together. Climbed back down and tested it out.

45 on the Pansat....hmm...want to get better...climbed back up on the roof (of course it had to be like 25 today) and adjusted it a little bit. Climbed back down and 49 with spikes to 58...well that works. Swapped out the 22 switch on the motorized setup and switched to a 4x1 diseqc. Also had to put some new ends on one cable as they were bad.

But now I can see PAS9 and Cubavision Int'l.....hey I dont speak Spanish but it's a couple more channels I can get :D
(oh and some people might know what that is, but that white stuff on the roof there is snow) :)

Right now Intelsat 9 (PAS 9) , is the only bird I can think of that the Universal comes in handy , I remember Nahuel 1 had marginal reception but it's been a while since I last saw any channels come in.

Funny because I'm ready to go on the roof myself and swap my Universal with a Standard just so I can play with my 905 Digital Sidecar again.

Maybe I'll wait , bought one of those add an LNB brackets from Satellite AV blowout sale so now I can add an extra LNB to my existing setup.

Thanks Iceberg, just won a motor on ebay from Sadoun and was wondering how I could slap a circular on the dish to recieve the DBS birds. This post just saved me a search ;).

On that note, is it possible to put 2 universals together on one dish as well. I have 2, so if I mount it like you did, would I be able, though my discq, run it on 2 recievers at one time?

Pas 9 is the only one that comes to mind. Never been able to get Nahuel 1 feeds before. The only other one i can think of is for east coasters and that is Atlantic Bird 1 (12.5w). An installer in ohio has gotten that sat before but its probably best for the coastline people. I905 (24.5w) has a few beams but nothing perm to lock on to. If there were som perm feeds/channels at these spots, I may consider the other t90 for these locations (12.5-52.5). The channelmaster on the side of the house can get PAS 9.

You can put 2 universals on there.. but they will be pointing at different satellites. The only way that you can use two receivers to watch the same satellite at the same time is to use a dual lnb (or use multiple dishes with singles, or use one lnb, and only watch channels on the same polarity at the same time, or maybe use a bandstacked lnb)

no problem. Have had that circular up there for 2 years now like that :)

its already noted above how to do 2 recievers on one dish. The reason I have the universal on the side like that is because of 2 reasons
-I have 8 LNB's on a couple 4x1 switches and a 22k switch and one of the feeds is from the motor (the "slave side") and you cant have a Universal with a 22k in the same line
-I have an analog box slaved and the frequencies for Universal are different than a Standard (Universals are 150mhz off on an analog box)

I tried adding a circular to my motorized dish yesterday to get the FTA channels on 119, but without much success. Given the fact that the circular is strapped to the side of my universal, would moving the dish 4 degrees via the motor (i.e. 115) pick up 119?

depends on which side its on. In my abvove pic, the DBS is to the left of the Satndard so you would add 5 degrees to it...so my 119 is aimed at 114

Hey... by that picture of your diseqc switch I see an empty port. Surely you can't leave it unused. There must be something that can be connected up to it.:yikes
