I think local primary channels should be "must carry" without compensation to keep community informed. if the fcc won't require it they allow other dma's to enter into the mix of fair competition. here in rural iowa, half of monticello, which is in the cedar rapids dma cant get channel 2 (a Sinclair station) over the air. cable and satellite should be given access to another cbs network. also sinclair also owns the local fox station. in dubuque and into southwest wisconsin many cant get either channels ota and have to have cable or satellite to receive locals at all.

or the FCC should REQUIRE ALL advertising be blacked out on the feeds to the cable and satellite feeds

Satellite should be allowed to broadcast any channels in a market that cable is allowed to broadcast. That evens the playing field and makes it FAIR competition.
