Just moved to the Sacramento area and was checking out the deals. I had been with Direct TV for 10 years, but we are moving into a rental house and not sure if they will allow a dish. I was doing comparisons for companies that offer all services (TV, Internet, and Local Phone). The price for Comcast was $195/mo, but CSR told me he would give it to me for $175 with two year contract. Called SureWest and they offered me the entire package for $140/mo first month / $149 2-6 mo/ $157 7-12 mo with a one year contract. Here is what I am getting:
180 channels plus HD
1 HD-DVR (records up to 4 shows at once, 3 HD, 1 SD)
1 HD receiver ($7.99/mo)
2 SD receivers (no monthly fee)
Can watch any recorded show on any TV in house
HD Channels ($11.99/mo)
HBO (free 1st mo, then half price 2-6 months, then $16.99 thereafter)
SHO ($13.99/mo)
Internet (fiber optic/ 15 mbs download speed)
Free wireless router
Home phone (500 anytime local/long distance minutes included..wife uses it to fax)
The CSA also told me to call every few months saying that they always have some kind of HBO/SHO special and they would give me whatever the current special is.
We'll see what happens and will re-post after installation.
