Survivor on CBS -- HD?... NO

  • Server Issues.

We are very aware that there have been system issues the past few days. In troubleshooting the system, it has been determined that the issue is at our provider and is hardware related. As of 12:05 PM ET our provider has moved us to a new server.

Things seem to be running better on this new server. However in trying to diagnose the issue (before finding out it was a hardware issue) we made some system changes which we need to undo. So if you find any issues or errors please let us know in the Operations Center Forum.

Thank you for your patience! Sorry for the issue!

They'll never make that thing HD.. not sure why though...

They've cited two reasons:

1) HD Cameras are too fragile for the harsh environments where they film the show, and it's too expensive bringing postproduction equipment to the remote locations; and

2) Have you seen how gross those people look after a month of no showers? Why would you want to see that in HD?

ugh.. one of the ota channels here does that.. Ick.. :)

Actually how long do you think it will be before they realize they can show 4x3 and use the rest for advertisements.. *cringe*

This season *might* be in HD. The reason I say that I watched the "CBS Fall Preview" show a few week ago. In that show, every Survivor shot was in widescreen. And when they did the interviews, it was clearly an HD picture.

That being said, just because it *might* have been filmed in HD, doesnt mean that it will get edited and broadcast in HD.
