Talking about upgrading equipment or buying our own equipment for dish network..!!!

I would like thank you for the feed back and advice on this. We were really thinking about buying our equipment for a few reasons, but after hearing all the feed back about owning vs leasing looks like its better just to lease the equipment and stay with what we have for right now. In the past a few months I did try and talk with a csr agent from dish about trying to upgrade our equipment and getting two hopper 3s and one joey 3.

CSR agent said no to everything what would like to do and csr agent was you like to be on auto pay with a credit card, paperless billing and renew for another two years right now before we don't anything I was like we have 10 months still left before we decide on anything and by upgrading that would help for us to stay with dish and more likely we would renew for another two years with you. That csr agent was very rude and unfriendly so after that call I was like wow dish sure does not want to work with you on anything.

After talking with the family this morning sounds like more likely we are going to stay with leasing out the equipment and after our time is up with dish we are going to try renew with dish and get two hopper 3s and one joey 3 for the house and 4th room will be a no good for now. We have no problem renewing for another two years, but what would it take for dish to lease us two hopper 3s and the one joey 3. Dad and mom want a hopper 3 for there stuff and I would like my own for my stuff to.
Can't you upgrade service (hardware change/add'n) at no charge at any time, just extend out 2 yrs required from date of upgrade, even if already in contract?

Compared with streaming, cable and especially satellite gear and interconnections are cumbersome in (and on) the home. DiSH has only steadily worsened over the years in terms of required boxes and cabling. I wanted to provide my cx's a centralized service where boxes aren't needed at all the tv's. Started out with model 4000 to put at main set and cabled to extra sets, often through existing splitter/cabling. UHF remote would then allow use anywhere. I generally didn't put any boxes in bedrooms, etc. They could run by radio remote. Then came the Duo models specially designed to do just what I was already doing, which allowed a main set to watch/dvr separately from other sets with no boxes on them. But then after that, hopper, and we're regressing.

We are going to ride out our time with dish and then in March of 2026 we will make that call at that time.

Do yourself a favor and call 888-496-1260 not the regular number. Much more highly trained people with power to make things happen. You may have to wait for your contract to be up -I don't know. But if anyone can answer your questions they can.
I was PM that number from another person about dish I have the number down on paper and in my files so we are ready to go after March of 2026
