‘Captain America: Civil Wars’s ridiculously large cast may be getting a little bit bigger according to reports of a cameo filmed in secret for the Marvel Studios blockbuster.Revealing the character rumoured to appear isn’t a massive plot spoiler (we wouldn’t report on it if it was) but those who would rather wait for a nice surprise come April should not read on.Umberto Gonzalez of Heroic Hollywood has chased up something first mentioned by The Hollywood Reporter back in July. According to their story Marisa Tomei will make her debut appearance as Aunt May in 'Civil War’.Gonzalez has followed this up with his own sources, who confirmed to him that Tomei will appear and that her scene was filmed in secret before the movie’s production wrapped last week.Last week an Atlanta television station revealed bedroom furniture that had been built for a scene set in Peter Parker’s bedroom. It seems likely that this is also the scene in which Tomei stars.

We’re still a long ways off from the release of Captain America: Civil War, but that hasn’t stopped speculation from running rampant across the Internet. The biggest question that’s loomed since the movie was announced has concerned the split down the middle of Earth’s mightiest heroes. The basic plot of the story pulled from the comics pits Iron Man against Captain America, with the rest of the heroes in the Marvel universe forced to pick sides in an epic battle. That being so, the MCU hasn’t always walked in lock-step with the comics, leading us to wonder what exactly the teams will be.Thanks to a leak of artwork from the film online the other day though, we now know exactly who will be fighting who. In the comics, the core conflict centers around Iron Man working with the U.S. Congress to pass legislation requiring all superheroes to register with the government. Captain America takes issue with this, forming a rogue resistance of heroes to take on Iron Man and his allies. Until now, the members of this team have been anyone’s guess. So without further ado…
Ant-Man has officially hit theaters, which mean it’s time to start looking ahead to the next film on Marvel’s lineup: Captain America: Civil War. With a jam-packed roster of both new and returning characters, the upcoming movie is quickly shaping up to be one of the studio’s biggest titles yet. As more details on the film continue to surface, here’s a look at everything we know (and don’t know) about the next Captain America sequel:
The problem begins with the Civil War comic storyline itself which—while quite the success for Marvel in 2006—was in fact terrible. This cross-title saga begins when the New Warriors, a group of less-than-super superheroes, tries to apprehend the villain Nitro in Stamford, Connecticut, during their live reality show. Nitro uses his exploding powers, leading to the highly publicized deaths of 600, 60 of them children. (We can discuss the nonchalant murder of children as a mere narrative hook in a mainstream superhero comic at some later date.)As a result of this tragedy, and the destruction wrought by other superhero battles, the U.S. government decides those with superpowers are too dangerous to be allowed to run around loose. It creates the Superhuman Registration Act (SHRA), which orders everyone with superpowers or equivalent tech (like Iron Man’s armor) to reveal their identities and their powers to a federal database. The short version of what happens next is that Iron Man believes the government oversight of the SHRA will help keep inexperienced heroes from accidentally harming people. But Captain America believes that forcing heroes to reveal their true identities will enable supervillains to threaten and harm their loved ones, which is the primary reason heroes keep their identities hidden in the first place.Both Iron Man and Cap have noble reasons for their positions when they are put like that, but it’s also where Civil War goes completely off the rails. Because while the two Avengers have presented their sides in the noblest view possible, it only takes a moment’s thought to realize this is utterly ridiculous.For instance, the Superhuman Registration Act is not the world’s worst idea. We regulate cars, guns (kind of), and other potentially fatal things; in this regard, regulating superpowers is an extremely reasonable idea. Comic book superheroes are almost entirely vigilantes who work outside the law, which is actually a crime. By registering with a government agency, their work could actually be sanctioned! They could save the day legally! In many regards, the Superhuman Registration Act would be a major step up for superheroes!
Don’t leave us, Captain America!Chris Evans and (most of) the Avengers cast wrapped filming on Captain America: Civil War late last month, marking Evans' fifth film in his six-picture contract with Marvel Studios.In an interview with ETonline, the 34-year-old actor explains why having another Marvel movie in the books is somewhat bittersweet.“It’s almost terrifying to think about these being done,” says Evans. “It always feels so good to kind of wrap and just say, ‘Alright, one more down.’ But it's also kind of like high school in a sense. You keep looking to when you're going to be done, and we're almost done now, and you're not quite ready for it to be over.”We already have graduation tears.When his contract ends, Evans says he will turn his focus to directing. His directorial debut, Before We Go, hits theaters Sept. 4.
This article, Mark Ruffalo Reveals the Reason Hulk Won't Be in "Civil War", originally appeared on Comic Vine.The back and forth debate to whether or not Mark Ruffalo will be playing Bruce Banner/Hulk in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War film may have come to an end. At the Venice Film Festival, badtaste talked to Ruffalo and asked him whether or not Hulk will be in the upcoming Captain America film. I thought that I would be in the film, but in the end evidently believe that reveal what happened Hulk is something too big, and Marvel wants to use this information later. My character had been inserted in the script, but then it was taken away. Who knows, maybe Hulk will never return. However, they want to keep the revelation of what happened a secret, because it is something really big.Hulk was in the script, then taken out because something bigger is going on. That leads to a few new questions. Does that mean Bruce Banner is going to be in the film then? Many fans are still hoping for Ruffalo to appear in the movie, and clinging to that like there's no tomorrow. Many people are speculating that this big secret is somehow going to lead to a Planet Hulk movie, based off the comic story line where Hulk crash lands on a planet and fights his way through gladiator battles in order to become king. It's widely considered to be one of the best Hulk story lines.A Planet Hulk film still feels a little far-fetched, but something else to wonder about is if fans will even get another stand-alone Hulk film. It turns out that while Marvel were trying to bring ‘Captain America: Civil War’ to the big screen the studio were having their own domestic dispute that almost saw head-honcho Kevin Feige quit.The Hollywood Reporter have confirmed that things became so tense between Kevin Feige and Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter as ‘Civil War’ escalated that Feige decided he could no longer work in tandem with his superior.In order to break free from Perlmutter, 42-year-old Feige considered leaving Marvel, especially since he knew full well that he would be one of the most desired executives in Hollywood if he became free.Earlier this week it was reported that Marvel Studios had undergone a reshuffle that has now resulted in Kevin Feige reporting directly to Walt Disney Studios’ Alan Horn instead of Perlmutter. And it turns out that Feige had to push for that to be the case because of his constant run-ins with Perlmutter.According to The Hollywood Reporter’s sources, Feige grew frustrated with Perlmutter during Civil War’s production as the frugal CEO repeatedly tried to scale the production costs down.
Comic book movies are a no-brainer for actors now, but before Marvel hit it big with their "Phase One" films, superhero films were a gamble, and actor Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, and once played Johnny Storm in two Fantastic Four films. During an interview with Collider, Evans talked about his possible future with Marvel, after his contract ends when Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & 2 come out in 2018 and 2019.“Listen, if Marvel wants me they got me. I’ve never had such a relationship where you have such—I mean look at my resume, I’m used to being on set being like, ‘Ah is this movie gonna be terrible?’ Marvel just can’t stop making great movies, they do it in their sleep. It’s wonderful directors and producers and actors and scripts, and it’s like a playground as an actor.”

I'm just being polite, really.The standard deal for Marvel movie stars is for multiple movies, and usually six is the number thrown around. Chris Evans just wrapped production on his third Captain America movie, and he's appeared in two Avengers flicks so far. That leaves Avengers: Infinity War Part One and Part Two. Now, assuming there isn't some creative math going on at Marvel where those two count as one film, that's seven movies...which means Steve Rogers probably needs some time off.In the past, Chris Evans has hinted that he's done with Marvel after his six movie obligation, hoping instead to focus on smaller films and directing. He has changed his tune in a new interview , though.“Listen, if Marvel wants me they got me," Mr. Evans told Collider. What's more, Sam "The Falcon" Wilson is the current Captain America in the comics, and seeing how Anthony Mackie's rendition of that character has proven popular, he's another likely contender to wear the red, white, and blue.Or maybe we'll just get to spend more time with Evans as Cap. I'm sure nobody would complain, especially considering that he's delivered the most likable interpretation of an otherwise "square" icon since Christopher Reeve played Superman.We may or may not learn more when Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6th, 2016.
For those hoping that Captain America: Civil War would be a return to the lighter tone of earlier Marvel movies after this summer's Avengers: Age of Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen has some bad news: This one, she promises, will be even darker."I think it's going to be the best one," the actress, who made her Marvel debut as the Scarlet Witch in Age of Ultron, told Premiere about next year's third Cap installment. "I am very excited to see it myself — I only worked on set for five weeks, so I wasn't there for the majority of it. Daniel Bruhl is an incredible actor, and he's playing the main villain in it, and he's incredible."Bruhl was announced as part of the cast last November. Although Marvel has yet to officially identify the character he'll be playing, it's believed he'll be playing Baron Zemo, a longtime nemesis of Captain America — originally, the character responsible for the hero ending up encased in ice — who played a small role in the original Civil War comic book."It's a movie about people, as opposed to robots, this time," continued Olsen. "So it's darker, and it's allowed to be darker because it gets more in the mindset of humans, rather than machines."Of course, Ultron was pretty human when it came down to it, at least where it counts. But what could be more human than best friends coming to blows over superheroic actions gone wrong? Especially with Asgardians and giant green monsters out of the picture.

Last week Steven Spielberg gave his opinion on the superhero movie genre, saying that it would share the fate of the western and disappear and make eventual comebacks. This week, Chris Evans, who is part of the superhero genre, shared his thoughts on the subject and added that for him it was a matter of reinventing and keeping it fresh, “as long as the filmmakers keep on reinventing the flavor and the approach and the tone, audiences are going to still go.”
It’s no secret that Captain America: Civil War has become one of the most hotly anticipated blockbusters of the coming year. With the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe set to face off head-to-head, everyone has begun analyzing who will end up on whose side – much of the early marketing has already been predicated on those debates. Bucky Barnes has had a wild journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although he’s been freed from HYDRA’s control, Bucky’s still not quite himself, but when Captain America: Civil War hits theaters next year, he’ll be part of Team Cap during the superhero conflict. One of the more frequent questions surrounding Bucky’s MCU future is if he’ll follow in the footsteps of his comic book counterpart and become Captain America, and now actor Sebastian Stan has given his two cents on if he wants his character to go down that road.When asked by We Got This Covered if he would be interested in Bucky taking over as Captain America, Stan (dryly) admitted that he has given that a lot of thought, but is comfortable with how things are going with Bucky right now. We can now reveal more details about the film, as another group of fans has been lucky enough to see some new footage.A new version of the Captain America: Civil War trailer was screened at this year’s AsiaPop Comic Con in Manila, Philippines. The footage seems very similar to what was previously seen at D23, though attendees have reported on Twitter (via CBM) that the trailer contained some new and extended scenes from the first. The fight between Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) is extended, with the two former partners battling it out and Hawkeye landing some serious hits – possibly critically wounding her.
“It was a lot of work!" said Bettany. "We all had a bit more fun. You know, there were more improvised jokes between me and [Robert] Downey Jr., and me and Chris Evans, and it was a really loose atmosphere on-set. It was one really loose set, it was great! I would totally lie to you if it wasn’t, but I don’t have to lie. And we all get on. They’re all a really nice bunch of boys and girls. They’re all happy to be there. They’re being terribly well-paid, so they should be happy to be there. And work’s really creative and fun, you know? I got to be born on camera, you know, that’s unlikely to ever happen again.”Bettany also talked about the comic book source material he pulled from to create his version of the character and how that work continues into "Civil War." “I was given comics. I also was looking to think about what could be edifying for me to learn. I took the opportunity -- you see my character get born… something unlikely to ever happen to me again. He must be both omnipotent and yet totally naive at the same time. And experiencing the world in real time and his place in it. Is he going to be a force of good or a force of evil? It was really interesting, fun to play with, because he’s dangerous, you don’t know if he’s going to go one way or another. I’m continuing that theme in 'Captain America 3.'”And Bettany also touched upon his future with Marvel, although he revealed he cannot disclose how many films he's signed on for. “As an actor, the other part of it is knowing that you have work in a year’s time. I’ve never had that. Do Jarvis, you should do Jarvis. No, find somebody else. Oh, I … It’s the first time in my life that I’ve had the security of knowing that I’ve got a couple of movies to make…” When asked if he can say how many more movies, he said, “I couldn’t reveal that.”
Wesley Snipes hasn't had a chance to play the vampire-hunting Daywalker known as Blade for more than a decade now, but it seems the guy isn't quite ready to let go of the character. Instead, he's still hoping that something can be worked out with the folks over at Marvel Studios that could one day see Blade team up with the various members of The Avengers.Snipes is currently on the road promoting his new television series The Player, and it was while talking with The Huffington Post that the actor discussed the possibility of returning to one of his most notable roles, and whether or not it's possible that he could one day find himself teaming up with the likes of Captain America, Black Widow, and the rest of the big screen adventures. Discussing the potential in seeing Blade team up with Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Snipes said,
Spider-Man is getting another reboot for the big screen, and director Jon Watts has revealed how he plans to approach the famous Spider-Man story differently this time around.He adds that "there are only so many times you can kill Uncle Ben," confirming that the familiar origin story won't be rehashed this time around. For the reboot, Marvel is working off the assumption that viewers are now familiar with Spidey's origins.19-year-old British actor Tom Holland plays the new Spidey, and Watts says, "Tom was pretty perfect. He's very athletic. He can actually do a backflip! If he didn't already capture the spirit of the character, with that on top, the kid is Spider-Man."It's expected that the new Spider-Man will make his first Marvel appearance in May 2016's Captain America: Civil War.
