Is there anyway around the 6 month waiting period to return to Dish. I tried to reestablish service and they said it had not been 6 months since I last terminated. (December 2008) I switched to a provider that I should have and now trying to come back. I paid all of my bills with dish and paid my termination fee to buy out the contract. Anybody got ideas? I am single so I can not use a spouses name to establish service.

I suggest calling back and asking for and ask for account specialist. It might help, otherwise, you only have about five weeks and three days until your reach 6 months.

Or use your wife's name or something like that... but seriously, if it hasn't been long, they should be able to at least reconnect you with what you had, without making you pay crazy fees.

did you return the equipment or still have it? I know if you still have itll make it allot easier, theyll re-charge for boxes.

I'm in the same boat so I called twice yesterday about re-connecting after stopping service three months ago. For whatever reason I decided to try out Directv - nice service but am getting more and more frustrated with the HR boxes with the off and on Brrriipps and slowness. I'm even willing to pay the ETF to head back over to Dish. Again both services are fine but Dish has much better equipment in my opinion. I was told both times that I would either have to wait six months or buy the equipment outright. Obviously that would be cost prohibitive so I guess I will have to wait three more months to happily give Dish Network $90.00/month!

Grass is always greener, eh?

I went against my better judgment for sure but was talked into switching by a friend. Again both providers are fine but I can't believe as long as the HR boxes have been out they are still having issues and (my own opinion BTW) not near as polished as the 722. Who knows maybe I will learn to like the HR22-100 but since I've experienced a 722 I know what I am missing.

It doesn't matter if he's single or not... all that matters is that the name changes - you can use a spouse's name even if you have no spouse, if you get my drift.

I was trying to be oblique about it, but if you need it spelled out...

What about the obligatory Social Security number????? Are you suggesting he make that up as well?

You don't complain when rates go up do you?

If you want to be 100% above board, buy a receiver (and possibly an LNB) and rejoin Dish with no strings. If you decide to leave again you can just sell the receiver again. This is assuming you still have the dish and wiring in place. It would not take long to hook it back up if you are confident with wiring, or you could call some local dealers and see how much they would charge to come out and wire it for you.

A quick scan of Ebay shows 301/311s going for $20-$30.

call and ask for the flextv promotion. its like free for all promotion but no ssn and no credit card. read the customer agreement, it doesn't limit the promotion to new first time subscribers so in a literal sense former customers are not excluded.
