Try this:
Go to the Diagnostics menu (54 remote press Home button three times, 40.0 remote press Menu button two times), select Internet #2, then select Internet Settings #7. Press the Info and then the Recall button. A window Clear Wireless Settings #1512 will pop open asking if you want to clear wireless settings. Press Yes.

I have ethernet to Hopper3.
I also have wifi w/correct password.

When I go to the internet connections,
LAN is connection type
And wifi shows as disabled/not connected.

If I 'accidentally' pull the ethernet,
The wifi automatically activates.

With that info in mind,
Having both properly connected,
The Hopper 3 defaults to ethernet.

Ethernet is prefered over wifi because,
Dedicated connection,
Less traffic,
Faster connection speed.
