I have a Pinnacle Movie box connected to my PC via Firewire/1394.
The Pinnacle Movie Box allows one to connect an a/v source like an analog camcorder or...the output of your cable box.

Using this I can capture TV shows and watch them as AVI files after the fact.

But I can't figure out how to watch in real time.

Does anyone know about codecs or getting Windows Media Player to recognize the stream?

Try using WMP 10, and getting DivX video codec ;)

Thanks, I will try that.

Are you guessing or do you know? ;)

Trying to understand why this would work...
