My locals just went on to the 77 sat and I have a 1000.2 with 110 119 and 129 what do I have to do to add 77 to my set up even if the two dishes. Wont be close to each other.

The 1000.2 will accept a wing dish input, so if you want to go that route, another D300 or D500 with DP LNB pointed at 77 should do the trick. If I were you, though, I'd hold out for an Eastern Arc (1000.4) dish upgrade. It receives 77/72/61.5 all with one dish.

That is what I'm doing. Plus they are switching out my 625 for a 612 at the same time.

Total cost with dhpp is $15 plus a 2 year commitment for the receiver upgrade. A side benefit is my bill will go down $7/month!

Do u know what I need to do to get the 1000.2 and let's says a dish 500 together My first dish isn't gonna be even close to the second

D500 preferably with I-shaped adapter, a DP dual LNB, and some RG6 cable in a length adequate to go from the D500 to the 1000.2. Normal max length of RG6 for DP equipment is 200', but I have no idea how much less this might be hanging off a 1000.2. Maybe the total length (?) should be less than 200'?

Caveat 1: 77 is very close to 72, so you have the potential for interference from 72 on a D500. It has been done, but best practice is a bigger dish (the 1000.4) which has adequate resolving power to separate the two.

Caveat 2: If you have the 1000.2 fed to a DPP44, then you would run your wing dish to the DPP44 and not to the 1000.2.

1000.4 would be the best answer to resolve this, unless the OP has non VIP receivers. Then the other solution as stated would be the 77 wing dish. I would call dish and see if they are willing to do an upgrade to the 1000.4 seeing your HD locals are now on a sat that you cannot get without an upgrade, they may give you a freebie!

when I made my call because my locals went to 77, the best deal I could get was $15 w/my DHPP for the switchover, including all the parts and labor.

And a 2 year commit to upgrade my 625 to a 612.

All in all, I couldn't add a wing dish myself for $15 in parts alone. So I figure it is a good deal.
