Upgrading to HD - couple of questions - 68028

First off, I have been a Dish customer for 11 years so I have some knowledge of what has went on but I still am looking for some input on what I want / need should get when I make the move to a HD customer. Unfortunately the answer to the three questions should be the same but history says it is often. I have read a lot of threads here but there are still a couple of things that I am not 100 % clear on.


I live in zip 68028, near Omaha ( Gretna), in the Omaha DMA
I currently have two 508's
A Dish 500 Dish
One RG6 run each to two different locations where the 508's are located.
I will most likely keep one 508 and replace one.
Looking at a 722 as the replacement.
Local HD are available but on a wing dish location.
Subscribe to the 250 tier or whatever that is called this week. Will probably add the middle tear of HD.


My questions are what are my dish options. Will my dish get replaced with a 2000.2
If this is the replacement dish will the 508 work with this dish if I keep one active?
Will the Dish 500 I have be used to point at the wing location for locals?
Is there a dish option using my 500 that I am not aware of that they will try and install? I prefer to have as streamline of solution as possible and one dish would be great but not an option if I want locals.

Any comments, suggestions, or got ya's I need to be looking out for?

Omaha is an eastern arc market so that usually requires a Dish 1000.4 antenna. That one antenna should take care of all your needs. Since you want to keep a 508 on your account, they may put up a second Dish 500 for your HD locals and national HD at 61.5 for you and let you keep the current Dish 500 pointed at 110 and 119. Otherwise, for the eastern arc, you would have to replace your 508 for an mpeg4 capable receiver. I think those are the most likely possibilities.

What laddy boy said, you can either get 2 new recievers and get a single dish solution, or you can get a wing dish added to your current setup (havnt looked at where your locals are. this is assuming your locals are on 61.5). If your locals are not on 61.5 you will need a 1000.2 and your current dish will be converted to the wing dish.
