Using DVD recorder on DISH TV2

I just bought a Toshiba DR420 Dvd recorder and want to transfer some of my DISH recordings to dvd. We have a DISH 625 that controls two tvs, and it was easy connecting the new recorder to the main tv. But I would rather have it hooked up to TV2, which is not used as often. Is there any way I can connect it to TV2 and still be able to record the DISH recordings? There is no outlet on the Toshiba dvd recorder for the coax cable coming from the floor that usually connects the tuner to my tv.

I guess what I'm saying is, how do I connect a DISH receiver to a dvd recorder hooked up to a tv in another room?

This may be simple to do or impossible...I'm tech incompetent so therefore I have no idea. Thanks for any help.

You can certainly record the output of TV2 on your Toshiba. Since you will want the best quality recording, I recommend connecting it up using the TV2 composite outputs (red, white, yellow). I would leave the coax connected to your physical TV2 the way it is. When you want to make a recording, grab the TV2 remote, go to your TV1/receiver/Toshiba location, and turn on TV1. Select the Toshiba input so you can see what you're doing. (Obviously the person who is watching TV1 will have to wait a minute.) Turn on the Toshiba and set it up, and then turn on TV2 and start it playing the program you want to record. Make sense?

So the Toshiba does not have to be connected to the Dish receiver (which is connected to TV1) for me to make dvds of the DISH recordings?

If the tv has another input for the dvd recorder hook that up so you can setup your recording from tv2. this will allow you to record from tv2 and setup your redcording and not interupt tv1 viewing or recording. Like TheKrell said use the composite output of tv2 into the dvd recorder.

 I never said that! I am proposing that you connect up the 625's TV2 composite outputs to your Toshiba. I gather the coax output is already connected to your TV2, and it can remain so connected. All of the 625 outputs are "live" simultaneously.

Notice that you don't need to have any TVs turned on for your Toshiba to record from your 625. If you could set them up blindly, then the recording would get made. But more practical would be to use the TV that's in the same room as the 625 and the Toshiba, in order to set up the recordings. I presume that's how you got them to work together using the TV1 outputs. Simply cable up the Toshiba to the TV2 composite outputs instead of the TV1 outputs.

You didn't mention how you view the output of your Toshiba, rather than your 625, so I'm guessing how that might be hooked up.
