Using SW21 and SW21X

The SW21x is identified by Dish receivers as one half of an SW42. The built-in switch on the legacy twin is recognized as a "TWIN." It bascally boils down as to whether the software identity of the sw21x is address the same as the built in switch on the twin. If it is not the same, it will cascade.

The only way to find out is to try it.

No, you MUST use all SW21's if you are using them with a twin.
As others said, a twin is equivalent to an SW21x & an SW42, so you cannot use these 3 switches at the same time.

The SW-21 command set is NOT the same as the SW-21X command set. THAT is why they can be cascaded.

However, the Twin, SW-21X, and SW-42 command sets overlap, so they can NOT be cascaded in any combination.

You're right, the sw21x is for cascade use with a sw21,is for getting 3 point signals(61.5,110,119)and no because is not made by Dish(Microyal)is a very reliable
switch.
