[VOOM] Is anyone paying the January Bill?nt

Why wouldn't you? There's little chance that it will be gone that quickly and if you don't pay it then they'll screw ya and it'll go on your credit rating.

As long as you receive signal from Voom, you are obligated to pay your bill.

Failure to do so is called "Theft of Service"

Why wouldn't you pay if the service is still being provided? Because of
contracts with the programmers we don't know when they might stop services.
As long is VOOM is up there and the service response is good I'll keep
watching and paying. If it were to stop I am pretty sure they would refund
your partial month or credit it to whatever service succeeds VOOM, even if
it is Dishnet with more HD content. Remember, you all still have a choice
and if Charlie's team disses us VOOMers there is DirecTV, Cable, C band,
just OTA, amongst other choices. I expect we will be treated fairly and even
given some incentives to switch over if that's in their game plan. What if
they decide to treat VOOM as a higher end DSS service?
As I have been saying the last few days, no one knows how this will finally
shake out for the current VOOMers, even Charlie...But we are customers with
a track record of paying our bills monthly, and that is exactly what Charlie
and all the others want to acquire, and I believe that at this point we are
more than 26,000 strong.
Free advice should be taken only for what it's worth, no more than internet
prognasticators "news reports". But my free advice is to relax, enjoy VOOM
while it's there, and look forward to some very decent incentives to grab
the majority of us for whatever service emerges from all this. But pay your
bill so they think we aren't a bunch of freeloaders. It would be nice if
they gave every VOOM receiver an OTA hit or eliminated the "not authorized"
screen if the stream is shut down so we would at least have good OTA
receivers for the hassle part of this experience. Especially for the folks
that bought their equipment.
