Actually I don't think they are a "sorry company" and this comes from
a long association--since Dec.'03. And if you think we haven't had
our share of problems read my posts. However, VOOM always resolved
all of the problems and did so in a friendly manner unlike too many
companies we have dealt with over the years.

And we've enjoyed countless hours of HDTV since we've had VOOM. Cheap
entertainment in my book even though we purchased our equipment
including our STB. We've checked over the past several months and
nothing and I mean nothing comes close to providing the depth and
content of VOOM's HD offering and HD is why we signed up in the first
place.

Has VOOM been well run-we don't think so. They lacked good
advertising and placement and had way too many "problem installs"
(although maybe no more than other sat providers). However their line
staff (can't say enough good things about Wilt, Lori and Peter) have
gone out of their way to help us with problems as they've cropped up.

Those are the people we feel sorry for as they lose their jobs while
we lose the best single source of HDTV available currently. However,
we'll survive this lack as we did before as it is just TV. They lose
their jobs and income and house maybe.

So, a little perspective is needed.

And, of course, this forum should be one of the places to "let off
steam". As a long time member of the ACLU I believe everyone has a
right to say what they want within the limits of civility.

We'll miss VOOM-don't doubt that! But pissed at them-no.

And still enjoying HDTV under increasingly cloudy but what did you
expect in Seattle skies, Gill
