[VOOM] Software update

There was a software update at 1AM PST today. Anyone know what are
the fixes and enhancements?

------------------------

OTA Aim - New Data

If you go to the Installer Menu (Voom button, green button, etc.), on the Aim OTA screen, there is some new data (but I can't explain it). Anyone?

I've seen this before by pressing info I believe when I got to that screen.
I believe it is PSIP info amongst other things. I don't know what it means
but PSIP is how programs wind up on the program guide and how a channel that
is digital and is on RF 49 winds up being channel surfed as 9-1.

[VOOM] Re: Software update

I notice that the individual channel scanning now seems to register analog local signals. I
don't think it did that before this update. I can't lock any of them in or put them in the
guide, but they do register now (and I don't think they did before). This is helpful for
pointing the antenna at the tower.

Re: [VOOM] Re: Software update

I wonder if there is any future capability to function as an NTSC tuner for
analog channels as well as the ATSC digital capability. That would be
really nice. Sometimes I just can't get a perfect lock on the digital due
to weather or wind and having the analog for backup is helpful.

Re: [VOOM] Re: Software update

Couldn't you use the NTSC tuner(s) in your TVs?

Re: [VOOM] Re: Software update

Sure but based on antenna inputs and convenience it is nice for fast channel
changes.
