Isnt Flashpoint still on ION....Cloo was shutdown basically because the ratings plummeted and most of Cloo's programming migrated to pretty much where MeTV's programming went, COZI. NBC Universal owned cloo and it owns COZI (which I am hoping for NYD shows up in my market).....What should Ion do with the main Ion channel? Apart from a few Canadian shows like Saving Hope and Private Eyes to be broadcast next year all it shows is repeats of US crime series all day. They tried original programming before but it didn't really work out. Why don't they try some original factual type programming to differ themselves from the other main networks or acquire more Canadian content? Will they be airing these same few shows in 5+ years. Why did the Cloo channel shut down when Ion airs a lot of the same crime shows?

The exclusive goal of secondary networks is to provide a host medium for running more advertising. It comes down to what programming they can afford, not an original air date. This is evidenced by the list of shows presented in the OP where much of the programming is crime dramas from the last eight years that appear on numerous other networks.correct me if I am wrong on this (factual type shows), these ota networks (like ION, LAFF, GET), aren't they're primary goal is to get shows that we favored from past decades.
I noticed that when Get Launched on KLFY back last year. It was programing basically from decades ago like old westerns and older movies. Now its sitcoms like 4 hours of in the heat of the night and others from the 80's. They kept the 24 hour westerns on Saturday. They have to be careful about picking a particular genre and branding around it as there may not be the content to support it in the long term. There seem to be as many channels that have lost their way with respect to branding (Grit?) as are managing to hang on. For their part, Ion obviously visited a crime drama fire sale to keep programming going.

Ion is not available OTA here in El Paso, TX but I get it in HD with DTV.
