Is it silly? Yes. I heard about it before I canceled so when the retention agent told me about it as I was canceling, I didn't get mad. Just asked about the details. Was told to send back the LNB, receiver, and remotes. Was told there was enough room for two LNBs when I told her I had 2 and there was a lengthy discussion about properly packing it so as to ensure no damage during transport so it does matter what condition it arrives in.
Now to my problem. I was told LNB, receiver, and remote. No mention of switch. I've had the LNBs, receiver, and remotes set together for a couple weeks now waiting on my box (the box was stuck in transit due to weather for nearly a week). The box arrived tonight and the instructions say to include returning the switch too. Now, I never paid any attention as to where that was before. And at this point, I don't know if the DirecTV guy discarded it, or if I threw it away, or if it's hidden on the ground under the snow or if I put it somewhere out in the shed. All I know is I can't find it now. Anyone know what the 'charge' is going to be without this switch that was not mentioned prior?
As far as room in the box for two LNBs, one is the 'tri' type and because of that, I had to reconfigure the boxes interior packaging to make it fit. Not quite the right box if you're in an area that needed two dishes and one of those being the larger type.
