Dish adds Smithsonian Channel as part of CBS Agreement

After he said that he would put in the request, i asked why he needed to request a channel that was already mentioned in the press release back in august? He put me on hold and came back on and said the thing about channel placement. Dont know how true it is
He wasn't aware (or forgot) about the announcement ? While speaking to you, he may have been looking/researching and found the information in reference to the channel spot....

Only game in town, at this point.

Didn't care for constant RERUNS ,which was all they had on before and the content didn't interest me much.
But, if they are now providing new programming, as many claim, why not check it out before making a decision not to watch? Or, is it really the science and natural history thing? :hiding

The reruns were so numerous it was obvious with a glance at the guide. No, really. It was like Voom, only maybe worse.

OK Gary , I will watch one program if it comes on FREE VIEW and it doesn't require me to subscribe to BB@home. Then I will decide.

I'm pretty sure it's on DirecTV channel 570. I have no clue which tier. Some content is also available free on Roku

HD Extra Pack on DirecTV: http://www.directv.com/premiums/additional-channels

I remember when my grandmother had D* before Dish that you could add the $4.99 pack free every 3 months online. While some may disagree, I thought it was worth the trouble of readding it each time due to the high price of Choice Ultimate (having to wait for a similar package to Dish with the Encores and Movie Channels seemed like forever back then) and HD with D*.

The HD Extra Pack has a few channels in Blockbuster @ Home, but Blockbuster @ Home has a lot more channels in it. I think that is why I prefer Blockbuster @ Home over it even if you cannot add it free every 3 months. :) I used to love when HDNet Movies would premiere movies before the theaters; I do not see this done anymore on that channel.

Dish used to have Shorts HD, but I never really found anything to watch on it. So, I really do not miss it.

Good Gravy, how long does it take Dish to add a channel that they had once before. The uplink should already be available.
