2015 NCAA football discussion thread

It was all faked anyway. He knew the Tebow gravy train was over and the Gators were going to be very weak for a long long time. So he fled the SEC and took a job in a conference with only one decent team at the time where he could dominate it.
Interesting, he's recruiting great here against the same teams that he was recruiting against down there, why would you think he couldn't bring in the same players and make Florida just as good as the Bucks are now ?

Against the same teams? What do you mean? A few national prospects that everyone goes for aside, they are pulling from a different pool, with different competition for the best regional talent. And Florida has a higher percentage of big name schools to compete with , in admittedly a larger talent pool.

Urban is getting the same players from the south that Saban and others are.
Been recruiting the southern states since day one.
Difference being, he's also getting the best from up this way as well.

I don't think UM is getting the same players from the South as Saban, but he is definitely pulling talent from Ohio and the midwest region...

That pretty much shows what I was saying (except it being Bama and not Florida).

There are a few nationally recruited players that all schools go after, and region is not as important. You see some of them on both rosters from California for Bama, and Florida for OSU, and some Texas names. Considering the sheer number of blue chippers in those three states it is not surprising that you find players from there on all the big name program rosters.

For the most part though, most of them are from the region of the school. OSU is filled to the brim with Ohio athletes and a few from the surrounding region.

Bamas is a little more varied, but still far more centered on the Southeast.

So I would say again, except for the big recruits that everyone goes after, they are pulling from a different pool and not in direct competition.

Then he's getting his share of Big recruits, the ones everyone is after .... btw, we'll gladly take a 4 star recruit and coach him up to a 5 vs going for 5s only.

.
Of course he is. Most big programs get their share of top rated recruits. Bama has for years, and OSU always recruits well also.

Rutgers suspends Kyle Flood for 3 games for contacted professor to change grades.

Based on some of the email transcripts , I have a feeling the University will fire him (with cause) before the 3 games are up.

Great day of college football on tap, for me start the day with Michigan, wrap up with ole miss/Alabama

What the hell happened to GT today?? I was pulling for them over the Irish whom looked like crap against a crappy UVA team last week.

I was disappointed in how VT played today... score should have been 70+ - 7 easy but they just can't stop hurting themselves with penalties which hurt them since the OSU game. I do have to say I was really surprised in how hard Purdue played in that game.

#6 Trojans fall to Stanford 41-31. #2 Bama looking fat and slow against Ole Miss at home. #1 Buckeyes looked bad squeaking out a win today. It'll be interesting to see how the polls move this week.

They all should drop, but then again ... Someone has to be up there .

After watching Florida State last year win squeakers and stay number 1, the Buckeyes should stay there as well.

Then again, all these close calls teams are having mean absolutely nothing till the week when the Polls actually come out in November.

On a positive note, I think I read/heard that Urban is considering actually PICKING a starting QB instead of the stupid way he's going about it at the moment.

He better do it and quick before the indesigin cost them a game and then they could be on the outside looking in.

Heres hoping that will allow the offense to gell.

Ole Miss looked like a #1 team to me at times last night but Alabama was sloppy, more so than its been in a while. OSU squeaked by with their win but still should be top 5. I don't compare OSU to FSU at all like everyone on ESPN is doing with how the teams they played last year to this year compare up. What it seems is happening is teams are being called out for flaws finally after 2-3 games in and the truth is showing who is really who.

I'd put TCU #1 this week followed up with Michigan St then Baylor rounding out the top 3 then perhaps OSU at #4.

ND - well I have no idea about them, they played a close game against a crappy UVA team last week but played a great game against a very good GT team yesterday. FSU is kinda looking better than they did last year as in getting better each game. Clemson and Georgia are neck and neck to me after watching their games this weekend. LSU is certainly climbing the ranks... looked good doing it too against a blind Auburn team, so I'd stick them up in the top 10 for sure.

I see playoff this year as follows.. Ole Miss, Clemson, TCU and Michigan St.
