I have not received any 404 errors at all. I'm running Chrome on Win7.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the style? I'm using SatelliteGuys Classic.

There's literally no "SatelliteGuys Classic" theme. Do you mean Satellite Guys 2016?

My bad.

Have you tried other themes? I use SatelliteGuys 2016 without any of the 404 issues so I suspect that some elements of the Classic theme may be busticated given the faulty references it seems to be creating.

I'm on record saying that I have had no problems with the Classic theme. Nothing faulty on my end.

I'm using SG2016 and have been for a long time. The 404 issue started with the switch to https and since yesterday can now no longer get here directly.

Something that can be a big issue with https (TLS) connections is if you're using some sort of web caching proxy (AOL used to do this and was spectacularly unsuccessful). This is especially problematic for those behind corporate firewalls or gateways that aren't configured to pass TLS connections without trying to cache them.

In summary, there are many possible factors that play into a problem like this so a fairly full accounting of what is in play (OS, browser, theme, URI used or button clicked, etc.) is considerably more helpful than a "me too".

Same here, but I see no 404 issue. Using FF.

Add me to the list of folks that cannot get here directly. I did a google search on the error message and that led me here.

Don't use any web/cloud based services, well except for the Panda anti virus which I guess is cloud based. Not behind any firewalls other than the Verizon DSL modem/router.I think Ive already covered what I'm using,Win7Pro 64bit,Pale Moon or Chrome browser,Satguys 2016 theme.
Clicking on the Satguys bookmark goes directly to 404.So now I click on the Rabbit Ears bookmark, then click on a link to a thread here at Satguys, then I can log in,click on Forums and I'm here.
Since this started,Ive cleared the cache and cookies and rebooted the modem/router,haven't made any changes to the computer other than whatever updates Windows or Pale Moon wants, and there hasn't been any of them for over a week.
In short it was working, now it doesn't and the only thing that doesn't work is SatGuys.Don't know what the problem is but digging into the minutia of the web is way above my pay grade.

This may be an encoding failure (by the server?) in not encapsulating/escaping the @ sign that has always been a reserved character (encoded %40). The URI to access such a filename should be .../node-icon%402x.png if properly encoded.

Could you describe the buttons associated with these links?
First, I should state that I'm using the Pub Members "Fresh Blue" theme. On the Forums Index, I was able to track this down to the CSS downloaded from here:
Code:
https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/css.php?css=XenFacil_BirthdayGreetings,bookmarks_tab,charm,funbox,moderator_bar,node_category,node_forum,node_link,node_list,rellect_favicon,siropu_recent_posts_sidebar,thread_list_simple,unread_posts_count,wf_default&style=57&dir=LTR&d=1500710828
Screen Shot 2017-07-22 at 08.55.42 .png

This CSS gets called from other pages, with different arguments, which apparently doesn't trigger the "node-icon@x2.png" background image.

On this page, the "quicknav.svg" is referenced in the "same" CSS as the node-icon(a)x2.png, so hopefully that limits the search:
Code:
https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/css.php?css=RainDD_UA_Thread,attachment_editor,bb_code,bookmarks_quick_reply,bookmarks_tab,charm,editor_ui,funbox,likes_summary,message,message_user_info,moderator_bar,quick_reply,rellect_favicon,restorestrikethrough,thread_view,unread_posts_count,waindigo_navigation_links_threadnavigation&style=57&dir=LTR&d=1500710828

Is this still happening to people?

I got to look at the logs and didn’t see anything unusual nor have I been able to recreate the issue myself.

My guess is one of the cloud servers was having issues with its cache. And I am hoping it is fixed now.

I have been driving home since 7 this morning and will not be home until after 10 tonight so I will investigate more tomorrow.

Here you go, I just re-ran this report, and is it down right now says it's still an issue:
