New DP-Plus LNB won't recognize 61.5 bird

I currently have a dish500 for 110/119, and another dish 500 for 61.5. I originally had two DP-21 switches to handle the two dishes with two lines from dish to house. I had a slight tree problem for 61.5, but rarely lost signal. I eventually want more than my current two receivers - thus my reason for moving to DDPlus.

I just tried a new DD-Plus LNB on my two dish set up. (removing the two dp21s).
Both dishes are on the samepost. I got the same poor results with two dish pro plus lnb's.. I changed cable connecting the two lnbs. I changed the 61.5 lnb.
For some strange reason, neither my 811 nor 501 will recognize 61.5 now!!!!!
I disconnected cable and reset both receivers and tried check switch again, STILL no 61.5.

I'm perplexed. I'm wondering if Dish Pro Plus lnbs require more signal strength to register as opposed to my original dp21 set up.????

I need to double check LOS for a 1000.2 before trying one of those, may or may not be an option.

any thoughts from fellow installers???

The DPP Twin can only directly support 2 receivers, though either or both can be dual-tuner. Keep the DP Twin and replace the DP21s with a DP34 to get 4 tuner outputs, or with a DPP44 for any 4 receivers (any or all can be dual-tuner). See EKB: Switch Selection

I've only got TWO receivers hooked up. Why would I want to pay for a 34, I can get a 1000.2 dish cheaper and run 3 twin tuners.

Smith,
got no signal from the 61.5 dish 500(DP dual lnb) direct to the 811.
Wondering now if a deer or our local BEAR ran into the dish.
Off to the shop to get my CM sat signal meter.

Well, dang it anyway!
Screw the 61.5 for my LOS set up.
Apparently something changed in the crotch of my neighbors tree - lol

With inclinometer, CM meter, 8 ft ladder and tree loppers, I fixed the problem!!!!!

I trimmed my beloved overgrown plum tree (supposedly dwarf) and simply swung my 61.5 wing dish around to 129. Thus, there was nothing wrong with cabling or LNBs, as all is working well now.

Thx ALL,
fred

This is the first case I've heard of where 129 is the solution, and not the problem. :)

Can't peg Sig Strength - 96 of 125 - D500 & D1000
