    Pansat 1000HD 8PSK and 9200HD 8PSK

I have both and the 1000HD is better for what I use it for (family frendly receiver), it has a better ATSC/OTA receiver and doesn't lock up as frequently as the 9200. The 1000hd is hard to come by used so you will pay a lot more for that than a fairly common used 9200. Both need the add on...

Looking for FTA DVB-S2 & ATSC unit with DVR and blindscan

I have a TC-1000HD from pansat and it works better than my 9200 on OTA reception and seems to be less buggy but still will freeze once in a while when scannning alot. I was even able to use the 9200 editor to set-up and edit the sat list for it. I do have the S2 module in mine but haven't done...

Best Medium Directional Antenna for 1st floor of apartment complex

There are a few people making smart antennas, they are basically able to receive from multiple directions and then the smart antenna able receiver searches and picks the best signal and uses that for reception. Many of the newer generation receivers are now able to use multi-path signals and...

    Need help with Antenna

A nice way to combine UHF and VHF is with a UVSJ combiner, pico macom makes them. That will keep the signals seperated and help keep signal cancelation from happening between the 2 antennas. Take the output (the one that goes to the TV) from the power inserter of the UHF and connect it to the...

    Can a DMX741U work with a 1.2 offset dish

I had one on a 1.8m offset, it worked ok on C and Ku but the conical scaler and alot of dish fine tuning is a must and I'm sure it's even more critical on a 1.2m

    Pansat TC1000

I've got a tc1000 with the DVB-s2 tuner, it receives as good or better than the 9200 on the satellite tuners and has a much better OTA receiver. The TC-1000 has a fan installed from the factory and the overall size of the unit is much smaller, it still will lock up on occasion but no more...

AZbox is taking over the world!

I think the best vote is to see how many threads and activity there are for any receiver. When the mods see enough action it ought to warrant it's own catagory. If nothing else at least a catagory for sat receivers/multi media players. I would think the AZbox is getting close :)

    RTN on 83w AMC9

Here in NY using an old primestar dish (oval), generic no name LNB and a coolsat 6000 I used to get 66 - 70, I switched to a DMX521 LNB and now getting 87-88. My coolsat signal meter has a dead zone between 70 and 86 so it never shows any signal between those 2 points. Pixelation occurs at about 63

    1.8m KU-Band RX-TX Antenna & DMS BSC621-2D LNBF

I had a DMX741 with the conical scalar on a 1.8m prodelin offset dish for about 6 months. It worked OK on C band but was poor on some transponders because of adjacent interference (as expected). It outperformed my 36" offset with an Invacom QPH 031 LNB on many Ku transponders but it was very...

    HELP! Need Fox Station

Super, I have a conical scalar on my 1.8 meter prodelin offset dish and it also works great. I experimented with building a multiple cone shaped scalar out of thin aluminum and it worked well but the conical scalar works better overall. I see the same thing on my dish where I sometimes have to...

    HELP! Need Fox Station

The Gray-Hoverman antenna is also a variation of a commercial antenna that was sold by Radio Shack and Antennacraft (G1443 & G1483) since the 70's. It does work great for UHF and is pretty easy to build. .
