    Hopper plus

The only thing stopping Dish from adding Dolby Vision support is the willingness of Charlie to open his wallet. But, he doesn't believe the cost justifies the benefit. The licensing fee would cost ~$2-$3 per unit. Possibly a bit less depending on the volume of units.

I will keep my opinion to myself about what changes Dish may or may not make to the H+. I will note that promotional materials for the 4k Joey once said it would include PIP. Does it have PIP? I use a FireTv 4k max for streaming since it is pretty snappy and supports Dolby Vision, which the H+...

    Hopper plus

The most straightforward and accurate explanation is that the Hopper+ changes your Dish H3 interface into an Android TV interface. Thus you can access most of the Google Playstore apps on your H3. However, the Hopper+ also neuters your H3 in other ways that some (me) find unacceptable. Most...

Yes, his service was impacted. Just because he is oblivious to that fact doesn't change it. :deadhorse

Your service has been impacted, but perhaps you don't use the impacted services such as Dish Anywhere, or 3rd party streaming services for channels that you already pay for and are entitled to use.

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

First, it hasn't been, "a few hours." It has been close to 300 hours now. Why do some people on here act like customers shouldn't be pissed off or irritated? They didn't cause this problem. The company doesn't exist without customers. The customers have been inconvenienced, not getting the...

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

Day 15 of the HboMax hostage crisis... The saga continues...seemingly indefinitely. Has Charlie hasn't consulted with any outside PR firms about how to handle this crisis from a communication standpoint? It doesn't seem like it. I was thinking to myself about this hack. I am not sure how many...

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

No one is talking about it because it is 12-day-old news at this point. We are the only ones talking about it and apparently it isn't even a big enough story for us to keep us from getting derailed for 1/2 day arguing about whether certain trees are deciduous.

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

I am not advocating that they should pay, in fact, if no one ever paid these extortions would stop. They might steal data, but that would be the extent. However, as stupid as it sounds, when these groups do get paid they almost always keep their end of the deal. It doesn't end up being a...

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

With the systems properly backed up and segmented accordingly? I have a degree in IT as I have said before, so I have some familiarity. In fact, I have wrote retrospective papers on several extensive data breaches examining the causes and response. In most cases, companies have been warned time...

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

I only have an AS in Computer Information Services, but I find this mind-boggling that they could take EVERYTHING down except live tv. In fact, I have to believe at this point that they could have taken the full satellite service down as well but chose not to. This is a separate issue, but why...

Hopper + and Joey 4 - worth the risk?

Read Scott G's post very carefully. Like a puzzle, you have to put it together.
